These are not the eyes of a "killer ape" (and yeah, I know the monkey-ape difference, but you left out gibbons from your list of apes, rory). I see killer ape eyes on my TV every day, the worst belong to Cheney & Rice, absolutely dead eyes. I enjoyed your courtroom scene very much. Will we ever find out Billy Ray's side of the story? D.K.
re: the gibbon -- recall this is extemporaneous split second dialogue where nuances are decided as one speaks ... one thinks of one's audience ... and what is obvious to one's audience for purposes of making the point at the time ... in this case the audience being the judge ... know what I mean ... so the leaving out of gibbons at this point is intentional ... given relative evolutionary/genetic distance ... you will probably find them being mentioned quite soon in a Jared Diamond quote if nowhere else ... although a story, even a true one, is a fluid thing as it exists in the minds of the teller and tellee ... good observation about the eyes ... "stay tuned" .... thanks for reading ...
I can't get that episode of "Monk" (where a man's beloved chimp was accused of killing his "master" but in reality it was the "master's" cheating wife who whacked him) outta my mind while readiing this tale about Billy Ray. Too bad a Love Connection couldn't take place between the two. They could sit and commiserate about the biased justice system and pick out nits from each other's fur.
great story. I don't have much else to say, just that I thought it was a very good story and look forward to more
Just got back home and man, do I have some catching up to do here with this little story.
good to know you're not one of them anti-gibbites! also enjoyed your pointing out a corporation is considered a legal entity ... so as not to pierce the corporate "veal" eh? D.K.
Tina: Monk? Gonna hafta look that one up. When was that? Thanks Graeme. Appreciate it. DK: good un
Rory: It is the episode called "Mr Monk and the Panic Room". It aired in June of 2004 (Season 3 Episode 2). Carmen Electra guest starred as the cheating wife. Hubby and I love this Tony Shaloub show on USA... so much so that we own all of the seasons thus far on DVD.
thanks tina ... gonna hafta find that episode ... since it's on the subject ... man rory is out of the loop ... seriously no tv for years ...
